Hhmm… Pancakes!

February 2nd, 2012

Traditionally Shrove Tuesday, the day before Lent, was used to indulge yourself and use up ingredients that weren’t allowed during Lent.  Nowadays Shrove Tuesday is more commonly called pancake day…

Ingredients:

125g Plain Flour

1 Egg

300ml Milk

25g Butter

Method:

Whisk all of the ingredients together to form a batter and rest in the fridge for 30 mins.

Place a non stick frying pan on a high to medium heat, place a little frying oil in the bottom.

Pour a small amount of pancake batter into the pan and tilt the pan around to cover the bottom with batter. Gently lift the side of the pancake to check that the bottom is golden brown then turn either by using a fish slice or ‘tossing’ the pancake. Add your desired filling ingredients, suggestions below, fold in half and serve immediately.
